Suicide Memorial Walk
Online registration closes at midnight July 1 . However, anyone who would like to participate can register in person at the walk during the check-in times listed above. Walk donations are accepted at walk registration.

(T-shirts will be available for early pick up at Iowa County Health and Human Services Building 2nd floor by approximately July 1, 2022)
Lands End Employees - Your registration is covered by Lands End for you and all members of your household that are registered.
Opening Ceremony 11:30 am
Live Butterfly Release (Weather Permitting). You will receive 1 butterfly in your registration packet for the 1st 50 participants. If you would like more please specify on your registration form. Limited Butterflies will be available to purchase on day of walk.
Helicopter Golf Ball Drop (10:30am)
Memorial Walk at your own pace 11:30am -1:30pm
WALK ROUTE DETAILS
The Suicide Memorial Walk will take place at Ridgeway Park on the Bike trail. The walk will start (Train Car), and finish at the Ridgeway Park Shelter (Large shelter behind water tower and restrooms), weather permitting. .
The route is not technically challenging, has very little elevation change, and is wheelchair friendly. If you or members of your team would like to attend the walk and be a part of the evening’s events but do not wish to actually walk for physical or other concerns, there will be volunteer’s opportunities available along with a variety of Survivors Activities and information you are welcome to participate in.

Individual Registration
$20 - per person will include T-shirt, honor beads, and a live butterfly,
Challenge 1 (Deadline to register team - June 24)
Register as a team. If you have less than 10 people registered on your team and a TOTAL of $1,500+ raised by June 11, Each team member will receive a complimentary registration packet (fill out team registration) and a subway platter for your team to share
Challenge 2 (Deadline to register team - June 24)
Register as a team. If you have 10+ people registered on your team and a TOTAL of $3,000+ raised by June 20, Each team member will receive a registration packet, Your team will have a designated table under a shade tent and a subway platter and one case of water.
Remember, in addition to fundraising online, you can turn in cash and check donations at the Registration table on the day of the Walk.
T-Shirts
The shirts are 50/50 cotton and will have an area on the back that says "Walking in Memory of.." with a space below for you to write the names of the individual(s) you are walking in memory of. If you would like to add a photo or other design T-shirts will be available by special request at SPCICWI@gmail.com.
Awareness Activities
Random Act of Kindness Station-
- Printed cards to pick up and do random acts of kindness in memory of your loved one.
- Thank you cards will be available for you to write a note to someone that has made a difference in your life. Bring their address and we will pay for postage and mail it out for you.

Breaking the Stigma-
- Have your picture (head shot) taken in order to be put in a full page layout of many local newspapers stating: “I have suffered a loss due to suicide…. And I am not alone.”
Take Care of Yourself
- Find Three Good Things- What is three things you can appreciate about yourself? Make a list. They don’t have to be big things. Maybe you helped a family member, smiled at someone or took a brisk walk.
- relaxation Techniques
- Post-it notes activity to take home and post so you can see daily
